It’s been a while since our last update! Many of you have asked why the blog has been quiet. Running a Homestead is a full-time commitment, and balancing the demands of family life alongside the business has kept us busier than ever! Today, we want to share what’s been happening on the farm, introduce some exciting new products, and give you a peek into the lives of our newest furry residents. Plus, we’ll talk about the incredible demand for our eggs that has kept us on our toes for the past six weeks.
Finding Balance Between Family and Homestead Life
Homesteading is rewarding but unbelievably unpredictable. Over the past few months, our focus shifted toward managing daily Homestead operations and caring for our new baby. This meant less time for writing blog posts, but more time ensuring the farm runs smoothly and everyone stays healthy.
Balancing family and business is a constant challenge. There are early mornings feeding animals, late nights preparing the next day's orders, and weekends spent planting or harvesting. At the same time, family moments—meals together, club runs, and quiet evenings—remain precious. We’ve learned to prioritize and sometimes pause to recharge, which is why the blog took a backseat temporarily.

Welcoming New Rabbits and Facing Challenges
Our farm recently welcomed new rabbits to the homestead, adding to the lively atmosphere. We introduced a doe named Chili and a buck named Philip. Both are settling in well and have quickly adapted to their new surroundings.
Unfortunately, not all has been smooth. We lost one doe to a bacterial infection traced back to wild animals in the area. This was a tough lesson in biosecurity and the risks that come with outdoor farming. We’ve since taken extra precautions to protect our animals, including improved fencing and regular health checks.
Despite this setback, Chili and Philip are healthy and thriving. They bring joy to the farm and remind us of the resilience needed to care for animals in a natural environment.
Egg Demand Keeps Growing
One of the most exciting developments has been the overwhelming demand for our fresh eggs. For six weeks straight, our eggs have sold out consistently, a sign that many of you appreciate the quality and freshness we strive to deliver.
This demand has pushed us to increase production and improve our distribution process. We’re grateful for your support and are working hard to keep up with orders without compromising on quality.
